I like going to the gym and lifting hard.

I don’t particularly appreciate that my muscles often need (too much) time to recover.

If I see a supplement that claims to help speed up the recovery process and tastes like a “cheat day,” that sparks my interest.

Since you’re here, I suppose it sparked your interest as well.

In this article, I’ll be reviewing the Alani Nu BCAA.

Grab your favorite popcorn machine, pop some kernels, and find out if Alani Nu BCAA is next on your supplement list.

Ingredients in Alani Nu BCAA

The Alani Nu BCAA contains zero calories, so it does not contain any unnecessary sugars or fillers.

Alani Nu is entirely transparent about the ingredients and quantities in their supplement.

When looking at supplements, you want to avoid “proprietary blends” as much as possible since you won’t know exactly what you’re consuming.

59 mg of Sodium (Chloride) and 25 mg of Potassium (Gluconate)

Sodium and Potassium are essential minerals that support nerve function and muscle contractions.

You need a sufficient amount to keep mineral and water balance in check. Low levels can cause nasty muscle cramps.

Taking it before or during a workout may help you to work out longer by increasing blood volume and improving blood flow.

5,000 mg of Vegan BCAAs (2:1:1 ratio) - L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine

While there are 20 different kinds of amino acids, there are nine of which are essential.

We can’t produce these and need to get them from food.

Three (L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine) are called BCAA’s, or branched-chain amino acids.

They have a unique chemical structure, which makes them more likely to go into the skeletal muscle of our bodies.

L-Leucine is vital for our muscle-building pursuit because of its essential role in protein synthesis.

Science found that consuming BCAAs after training can improve strength/ muscle gains and recovery.

This is why BCAA powder has become such a popular supplement over the years.

The 2:1:1 means a 2 L-Leucine ratio for every 1 L-Isoleucine and L-Valine. Science suggests this is best for recovery purposes.

The BCAAs in Alani Nu BCAA come from plant-based sources.

500 mg of L-Glutamine

L-Glutamine is an amino acid that makes up 60 percent of your skeletal muscle. It’s essential for building proteins in our bodies.

Popularity has increased in the fitness realm, but science found benefits beyond reaching fitness goals.

L-Glutamine can improve athletic performance and recovery, support heart/ brain/ gut/ immune health, etc.

Flavors of Alani Nu BCAA

Alani Nu BCAA comes in four unique “cheat day” flavors.

I enjoy supplements with extraordinary flavors, and the following ones fit this category:

  • Hawaiian Shaved Ice
  • Rocket Pop
  • Sour Gummy
  • Sour Peach Rings

When choosing the right flavor, it’s a no-brainer to ask yourself: “What would Elon do?”

He would select the rocket fuel to propel his workout into space and beyond.

For this reason, I can recommend Rocket Pop.

Is Alani Nu BCAA safe?

Alani Nu BCAA is entirely safe for most healthy people because amino acids are necessary for our bodies to function correctly.

However, people with maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) must avoid BCAA supplements. They cannot break down amino acids properly.

Experiences with Alani Nu BCAA

The experiences with Alani Nu BCAA are overly optimistic.

Many love the unique flavors and experience better and faster recovery after workouts.

In addition, they state that this enhanced recovery noticeably improved muscle mass and strength.

Some go as far as simply saying, “BUY THIS.”

The small number of people that don’t like Alani Nu BCAA didn’t enjoy the flavor they ordered. The majority of dislikes are sour flavors.

Rocket pop seems to be loved in general.

As with any supplement or flavor, tastes will differ between people, and that’s expected.

Overall, Alani Nu BCAA gets an excellent 4,6 out of 5 stars on Amazon.

Price of Alani Nu BCAA

Price of Alani Nu BCAA

Alani Nu BCAA is priced at 39,99 dollars for 30 servings on Amazon. This makes the price per scoop around $1,30.

I think this is a pretty high price to pay for a BCAA supplement.

The XTEND BCAA (review) costs around $0,55 per scoop and has 2 grams more BCAAs with additional ingredients.

However, the Alani Nu BCAA has vegan instantized BCAAs (patented formula), which don’t come from animal products.

This is likely why there’s a premium price attached to it because they don’t simply buy the cheapest ingredient on the market.

Besides this, Alani Nu has unique “cheat day” flavors, which may be worth spending extra on.

Is Alani Nu BCAA Worth It?

I think Alani Nu BCAA can be beneficial for your workout efforts mainly in (but not limited to) the following occasions:

  • If you’re on a (very) low-calorie diet.
  • If you’re working out in a fasted state in the morning.
  • If you’re training intensely for a long time (and need extra hydration).
  • If you’re currently not eating a high-protein diet.
  • If you’re not able to eat in a reasonable time after your workout.
  • If you like a unique flavored drink during your workout, day, or before going out.
  • If you have a mindset like “if it doesn’t work, it will not harm me anyways.”

BCAAs can be widely found in our foods (eggs, chicken, etc.). Most people don’t benefit from supplementing them.

However, they have their time and place on some occasions.

Within the realm of BCAA supplements, the Alani Nu BCAA is one to consider. I like that it doesn’t contain calories, sugar, or unnecessary fillers.

There are four unique “cheat day-like” flavors to choose from that can make your workouts more fun.

The 5 grams BCAA are a high-quality instantized vegan patented formula.

It will not be magic regarding muscle gains or insane recovery, but it can benefit your fitness goals.

The claims made by Alani Nu are valid, in my opinion, after researching the ingredients and experiences of many people.

The only thing I’m not fond of is the price tag. Other cheaper BCAA supplements, such as XTEND BCAA powder, share many of the same qualities.

However, Alani Nu BCAA is vegan (no animal BCAAs), which is generally more expensive.

If you’re looking to make every workout day a cheat day and like the benefits of Alani Nu BCAA, I recommend giving Alani Nu BCAA a try.

You can find it on Amazon here.
