Green Tea Extract has been part of my daily supplement stack for a long time. The reason for this is twofold:

  • It’s effect on metabolism and ability to increase fat loss.
  • It’s a natural source of energy, which is great in the morning.

That being said I never truly “felt” anything noticeable from using Green Tea Extract supplements.

Not so long ago, I decided to go more in-depth into researching supplements and the active ingredients within them.

My question was: what makes supplements (like Green Tea Extract) actually work?

Well, I found out I was taking rather worthless Green Tea Extracts for as long as I can remember… It must have been years.

There was no “active” ingredient to speak of, and there was barely actual absorption by the body.

I went on a search for a Green Tea Extract supplement that actually contains active ingredients, and has good absorption in the body.

I wanted to see if Green Tea was not for me, or if I just never had a working supplement.

The highest quality I came across is the Green Tea Extract from Nootropics Depot.

It’s lab tested, made with a high amount of active ingredients, and should be well absorbed by the body.

I’ve ordered it, tried it, wrote a review, and at the current moment who knows what I’m doing (probably working out).

This is my review of Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract.

Grab some popcorn, open up your mind, and enjoy the review.

Ingredients in Green Tea Extract

Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract has only two ingredients, Green Tea extract, and Piperine.

However, it contains 45% ECGC and the tablets are Enteric Coated. I’ll explain all of it.

500mg of Green Tea Extract

Green Tea Extract comes from the Camellia Sinensis Tea Plant.

It’s a mix of polyphenols and flavonoids and doesn’t contain caffeine like drinking green tea.

45% or 225mg of EGCG

EGCG, or epigallocatechin-3-gallate, is the major catechin that is found in Green Tea.

Catechins are natural antioxidants, which have all kinds of beneficial effects on the human body.

It’s the active ingredient in Green Tea (Extract).

Enteric Coated

When a pill or tablet has Enteric Coating, this means it protects the natural compound inside from the harsh environment in the stomach.

It helps to release the content where it’s intended and increases the absorption of the natural compound inside.

In this case, it increases absorption of the Green Tea Extract/ EGCG, thus increasing its beneficial effects.

6mg of Piperine

Piperine is an alkaloid that can be found in black pepper, where it’s responsible for the sharp taste.

It’s used alongside the Green Tea Extract because it increases nutrient absorption.

In research, Piperine has been shown to increase the absorption of several nutrients and beneficial plant compounds.

Benefits of Green Tea Extract

I’ve never really experienced any benefits from other Green Tea Extract supplements, so I didn’t have any real expectations, to begin with.

However, Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract has proven that my previous Green Tea Extract was just inferior.

The benefits I experience aren’t magic, but I’m pleasantly surprised. I’ll combine my experience, with the research I found to give a complete overview of the benefits.

Skin/Acne/Oily

I didn’t have terrible skin to start, but I’ve experienced noticeable improvements in oiliness.

Every once in a while some acne would flare up, and this doesn’t happen anymore either.

There are people with way more serious acne/ oily skin, that report Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract to be extremely helpful.

Metabolic function / fat loss

The main reason I’ve been taking this supplement is for its beneficial effects on metabolic function and losing fat.

Over a few months, I notice that Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract has helped in lowering my body fat levels and boosting my metabolism.

I work out six days a week and have a healthy diet, but during this time I wasn't “trying” to lose weight, which is why in my experience the supplement worked as intended.

Inflammation

Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract can have a positive effect on inflammation.

I did experience less pain or inflammation than usual from the gym and in daily life.

However, I’ve been also taking Nootropics Depot Longvida Curcumin, which is a natural anti-inflammatory.

Research

The research has found that EGCG has more benefits to it, but I can’t speak out of experience here.

Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract may be beneficial to protect against cell damage, fight against diseases, and improve brain function.

Be mindful that this is by no means medication or a substitute for medicine for that matter. It’s not magic either.

Side effects of Green Tea Extract

Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract should not cause any (severe) noticeable side effects.

High amounts of EGCG have been linked to liver damage but amounts up to as high as 800mg EGCG should be safe to consume.

I did not notice any side effects, and neither should you if you stick to the recommended dosage of one tablet per day.

Price of Green Tea Extract from Nootropics Depot

Price of Green Tea Extract at Nootropics Depot

Green Tea Extract from Nootropics Depot is priced at $18.99 for 60 capsules or $36.99 for 180 capsules.

For the latter, this comes out to paying around $0.21 a day for Green Tea Extract.

Compared to other Green Tea Extract supplements, this is not expensive for the high amount of EGCG content.

In my experience, you get the absolute highest quality Green Tea Extract supplement available for the price you pay.

Especially, because Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extracts Tablets are Enteric Coated and come with Piperine, which increases absorption substantially.

Final words and do I recommend Green Tea Extract?

I’ve been using all kinds of more or less worthless Green Tea Extract supplements for a long time, and this product is clearly on a different level.

My metabolism seemed to have improved and my fat loss increased.

Besides this, it has noticeable benefits for my skin.

Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract is a high-quality, lab-tested product, which contains a high amount of EGCG and is perfected for absorption by the body.

The Enteric Coating of the Tablets and added Piperine are for sure making a big difference.

Where most Green Tea Extracts are negligible in effectiveness, Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract goes above and beyond.

For me, they’re a perfect addition to an overall healthy lifestyle and they will continue to be part of my daily supplement stack.

They’re not a magical solution to fat loss, but if you’re looking to boost your metabolism, a better skin, and improve overall health, then I can recommend giving Nootropics Depot Green Tea Extract Tablets a try.
