The first time I went to a fitness expo (FIBO), I came home with all kinds of supplements, including a Redcon1 Total War Pre-Workout tub.

The ingredients didn’t matter. I wanted to see sound waves and work out for hours.

Total War was an experience; I loved it.

Some years and many pre-workouts later, I still love Total War. But I wondered what’s in it and how it compares to other pre-workouts.

Is this your best pre-workout option, and is it worth the money?

In this article, I’ll be reviewing the Total War Pre-Workout.

Grab your favorite popcorn machine, pop some kernels, and find out if Total War Pre-Workout is next on your supplement list.

Ingredients in Total War Pre-Workout

The Total War Pre-Workout does not contain any proprietary blend, which means complete transparency in ingredients and quantities.

It’s always best to know what we’re consuming. Most components are adequately dosed, except the green tea extract and naringin extract.

Those last two come in negligible dosages (my opinion).

310 mg of Sodium

Sodium is an essential mineral necessary for proper water and mineral balance in your body and is critical for nerve function and muscle contractions.

By taking sodium before a workout, you may be able to work out longer because it increases blood volume and improves blood flow.

6,000 mg of Citrulline Malate 2:1

L-Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid that our bodies transform into another amino acid called L-arginine.

It increases the release of nitric oxide, which helps to widen the blood vessels. This allows more blood flow, oxygen, and nutrients to be transported into the muscles.

L-Citrulline also increases blood flow to the brain, which helps you to feel more focused, energetic, and sharper during training.

3,200 mg of Beta-Alanine

Beta-alanine is a non-essential amino acid that is produced naturally in the body.

It helps to reduce fatigue, which allows for more reps and sets while working out. Over time, this can lead to more muscle growth and strength gains.

It’s also the cause of that itchy or tingling feeling all over your body.

1,000 mg of Agmatine Sulfate

Agmatine is naturally produced inside our bodies, where it’s made from the amino acid L-Arginine.

It has plenty of essential functions and many benefits for working out.

It can boost nitric oxide, allowing more nutrient and oxygen-rich blood into our muscles. In gym language, this means massive pumps.

Besides this, it can boost energy, reduce stress (cortisol), help mental clarity, reduce perceived pain, and increase insulin sensitivity.

1,000 mg of Taurine

Taurine is an essential amino acid that reduces muscular fatigue. This means you can train at a high intensity for longer.

It has benefits for endurance, strength, and general power.

250 mg of Caffeine Anhydrous

Caffeine anhydrous is extracted from the seed and leaves of coffee plants. “Anhydrous” means that it contains no water.

It’s a highly concentrated caffeine powder, the same as caffeine in coffee. Caffeine provides energy, alertness, focus, etc.

150mg of Juniper Extract

Juniper Extract has excellent synergy with caffeine because it can increase its effectiveness.

It also has an anti-inflammatory effect and overall health benefits.

100 mg of Di-Caffeine Malate (70 mg of caffeine)

This patented ingredient is made for increased energy from caffeine without having the typical “crash” during or after a workout.

50 mg of Theobromine

Theobromine is an alkaloid that’s extracted from cacao plants.

It can expand your blood vessels, which improves blood circulation and helps to transport more nutrients in your muscles.

It may improve cardiovascular and cognitive performance.

Together with polyphenols and caffeine, it can have a thermogenic effect, which increases energy expenditure. This could potentially help in weight loss.

45 mg of Green Tea Extract (45% ECGC, 98% Polyphenols)

Green Tea Extract is a mix of polyphenols and flavonoids and doesn’t contain caffeine like drinking green tea.

EGCG, or epigallocatechin-3-gallate, is the major catechin found in Green Tea. Catechins are natural antioxidants with beneficial effects on the human body.

EGCG improves metabolic function, which means you burn more calories daily and lose more fat. Besides, ECGC is excellent for skin, inflammation, and overall health.

25 mg of Naringin Extracts

Naringin is a flavanone that’s found in citrus fruits and grapes.

It’s useful as an anti-oxidant and for its potent anti-inflammatory effects.

10 mg of BioPerine

BioPerine or Black Pepper Extract is used in pre-workouts because it improves the absorption rate of other ingredients.

It also has a thermogenic effect that can boost energy by increasing internal body temperature.

Experiences with Total War Pre-Workout

The experiences with Total War Pre-Workout are overall excellent. Many people find it their best pre-workout and smash it in the gym.

They get great energy, feel more focused, and enjoy massive pumps.

Also, they often keep buying Total War over and over because they like it more than other pre-workouts. It seems Redcon1 backs up its claims.

The minority of people that don’t like it probably don’t know about the effects of Beta-Alanine.

This compound will give you that itchy, tingling feeling (it can hit hard). However, it wears off rather quickly and is absolutely no rash/ allergic reaction/ something to worry about.

Overall, people like the flavors (some don’t, as you would expect) and respond very well to Total War regarding side effects.

Total War Pre-Workout gets a superb 4.4 out of 5 stars on Amazon.

Price of Total War Pre-Workout

Total War Pre-Workout is priced at 34,99 dollars for 30 servings on Amazon. This makes the price per scoop around $1,17.

I think it’s very reasonably priced compared to other working pre-workout supplements.

The 14.40 grams scoop of Total War is packed with properly dosed ingredients that work.

The advantage is that it’s all-around and not tailored towards only pump or energy. I believe it’s worth the price.

Is Total War Pre-Workout Worth It?

Based on the ingredients, experiences of others, and my own experience, I can say Total War Pre-Workout is an incredible option.

I like that it’s an all-around pre-workout properly dosed for boosting energy, better focus, and a massive pump.

It has 6 grams of L-Citrulline and 1 gram of Agmatine (not often found in pre-workouts) for massive pumps.

The 350 mg of Caffeine, Beta-Alanine, Juniper Extract, and Theobromine for serious energy, less fatigue, more focus, and getting hyped up.

It also contains BioPerine, so the body better absorbs all ingredients.

From personal experience, there’s no typical “crash” from the caffeine, which means the Di- Caffeine Malate works.

Be aware that a proper amount of Beta-Alanine will cause “jitters” or “tingling,” which will wear off after some time. It’s not a rash or an allergy, and it’s not harmful.

I like the flavors, and most others do, but this is personal. The price is not overly high for the high-quality pre-workout you receive.

Overall Total War is a perfect everyday pre-workout that will take your workouts to the next level.

I recommend giving Total War Pre-Workout a shot if you like the benefits.
