The best pre-workouts have a cool name, explicit packaging, and slogans like Unleash Your Inner Beast,” right?

After years of using pre-workout supplements daily, I’ve gotten used to the fact that it’s true. But (spoiler) I was wrong.

What if I told you that Nutricost doesn’t have any of these but is one of the best pre-workout I’ve ever tried or reviewed?

What if it’s not only one of the best but also has the cheapest cost per serving?

In this article, I’ll be reviewing the Nutricost Pre-Workout.

Grab your favorite popcorn machine, pop some kernels, and find out if Nutricost Pre-Workout is next on your supplement list.

Claims of Nutricost Pre-Workout

Nutricost convinces you to buy their Pre-Workout in the following ways:

  • 15 grams of high-quality pre-workout formula in every scoop.
  • Great for extra energy, pump and focus during your workout.
  • Is non-GMA, gluten-free, and 3rd party tested.
  • Made in a GMP-compliant and FDA-registered facility.

While most supplement companies market their pre-workout (even the bad ones) with “SKIN-SPLITTING PUMPS,” Nutricost keeps it simple.

I assume their efforts are put into creating quality supplements, not marketing.

Ingredients in Nutricost Pre-Workout

The Nutricost Pre-Workout does not contain any proprietary blend, which means complete transparency in ingredients and quantities.

It’s always best to know what we’re consuming. There are many ingredients; surprisingly, they all come in proper (high) dosages.

25 mg NE of Niacin (B3)

Niacin, or Vitamin B3, helps to expand our blood vessels, which increases blood flow in our bodies. The extra blood flow can give you a better pump during workouts.

Niacin also plays a role in converting food into energy, which may help with weight loss.

50 mg of Thiamin (B1), 60 mg of Vitamin B6, and 200 mcg of Vitamin B12

B Vitamins are nutrients that keep your blood and nerve cells healthy and help to create DNA. It’s found in pre-workouts because it may reduce fatigue.

They also play a role in metabolism, where they help carbs, proteins, and fats convert into energy.

They’re also crucial for a robust immune system and many other things.

6,000 mg of Citrulline Malate 2:1

L-Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid that our bodies transform into another amino acid called L-arginine.

It increases the release of nitric oxide, which helps to widen the blood vessels. This allows more blood flow, oxygen, and nutrients to be transported into the muscles.

L-Citrulline also increases blood flow to the brain, which helps you to feel more focused, energetic, and sharper during training.

3,000 mg of Beta-Alanine

Beta-alanine is a non-essential amino acid that is produced naturally in the body. It helps to reduce fatigue, which allows for more reps and sets while working out.

Over time, this can lead to more muscle growth and strength gains. It’s also the cause of that itchy or tingling feeling all over your body.

1,000 mg of Taurine

Taurine is an essential amino acid that reduces muscular fatigue.

This means you can train at a high intensity for longer. It has benefits for endurance, strength, and general power.

500 mg of Agmatine Sulfate

Agmatine is naturally produced inside our bodies, where it’s made from the amino acid L-Arginine. It has plenty of essential functions and many benefits for working out.

It can boost nitric oxide, allowing more nutrient and oxygen-rich blood into our muscles. In gym language, this means massive pumps.

Besides this, it can boost energy, reduce stress (cortisol), help mental clarity, reduce perceived pain, and increase insulin sensitivity.

300mg of L-Tyrosine

L-Tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid that helps produce neurotransmitters like dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine.

It can increase happiness, help you manage stress, improve memory, give you a better mind-muscle connection, and helps the body build proteins.

It also helps produce thyroid hormones, melatonin (skin and hair pigment), and enzymes.

300mg of L-Theanine

L-Theanine helps to regulate the effects of other stimulating ingredients. You feel focused and energetic but not overly stimulated.

It also helps caffeine work longer, so you don’t experience a crash while working out.

L-Theanine also stimulates the production of dopamine and serotonin, so you’ll feel better overall.

300 mg of Caffeine Anhydrous

Caffeine anhydrous is extracted from the seed and leaves of coffee plants. “Anhydrous” means that it contains no water.

It’s a highly concentrated caffeine powder, the same as caffeine in coffee.

Caffeine provides energy, alertness, focus, etc.

200 mg of Theobromine

Theobromine is an alkaloid that’s extracted from cacao plants.

It can expand your blood vessels, which improves blood circulation and helps to transport more nutrients in your muscles.

It may improve cardiovascular and cognitive performance.

Together with polyphenols and caffeine, it can have a thermogenic effect, which increases energy expenditure. This could potentially help in weight loss.

200 mcg of Huperzine A

Huperzine-A works as an acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor, which increases the levels of Acetylcholine in the body. This increase will improve neurotransmission and both muscular and cognitive performance.

In simpler words, it can result in better workouts by increasing focus, concentration, and cognitive abilities.

Flavors of Nutricost Pre-Workout

Nutricost Pre-Workout comes in the five following flavors:

  • Fruit Punch
  • Blue Raspberry
  • Watermelon
  • Peach Mango
  • Grape

In my opinion, the flavors are not the best, but I don’t mind.

This pre-workout will make you kick ass, but it may not be for you if you like amazing-tasting pre-workouts.

Is Nutricost Pre-Workout safe?

Nutricost Pre-Workout is safe when sticking to the recommended dose for most healthy adults.

The pre-workout is HIGH in caffeine, which might also not be ideal if you’re sensitive to caffeine or anxiety. It can make anxiety worse.

Don’t take this pre-workout too late in the day, or you won’t sleep, and watch your caffeine intake from other products.

It’s best to consult a medical provider before taking Nutricost Pre-Workout if you’re taking medication, have a medical condition, are pregnant, or are nursing. Stop taking the supplement two weeks before undergoing surgery.

In some cases, you can have mild side effects like an upset stomach, feeling nauseous, diarrhea, headache, etc.

Experiences with Nutricost Pre-Workout

The experiences with Nutricost Pre-Workout are outstanding overall. Many people find it to be the best value pre-workout supplement the market has to offer.

It contains every ingredient a gym enthusiast could wish for. They feel energized, have great focus, and get massive pumps.

The criticism is primarily one of two things:

  • The flavors don’t taste good.
  • The side effects (nausea, stomach upset, etc.) from taking Nutricost Pre-Workout.

This pre-workout might not be advertised as such, but it’s powerful. It may be too intense for beginners to take a full scoop.

Access your tolerance first if you believe you fall in this category. 2/3rd of a scoop might even be enough for many to have a fantastic workout.

A minority complain about the itchy feeling, but this comes from Beta-Alanine. It wears off rather quickly and is absolutely no rash/ allergic reaction/ something to worry about.

Nutricost Pre-Workout gets a score of 4.3 out of 5 stars on Amazon.

Price of Nutricost Pre-Workout

Price of Nutricost Pre-Workout

Nutricost Pre-Workout is priced at 24.95 dollars for 30 and 37.95 dollars for 60 servings on Amazon. This makes the price per scoop around either $0.81 or $0.63.

The price for 30 servings is already far lower than every high-quality pre-workout I’ve reviewed or tried, but the 60 servings price is mind-blowingly low.

You would typically get an underdosed pre-workout that does nothing for that price. In this case, you get a 15-gram scoop containing a list of perfectly dosed ingredients.

Is Nutricost Pre-Workout Worth It?

Based on the ingredients, experiences of others, and my own experience, I can say Nutricost Pre-Workout is one of the best pre-workouts on the supplement market.

It’s a pre-workout supplement that has it all: insane energy, sharp focus, mood uplifting, better muscle contractions, no typical caffeine “crash,” and massive pumps.

And all of this at an AMAZING price.

For example, I love L-Theanine and take a 300 mg capsule daily. That one L-Theanine capsule (already cheap) costs over half the price of one scoop of Nutricost Pre-Workout. Mind-Blowing truly.

The only negative for me is the flavors, but I don’t mind too much. How much this bothers you is personal.

If you’re new(er) to pre-workout or don’t have a high tolerance, then I advise you to start with 2/3rd of a scoop. It might not even be necessary to go to a full scoop.

It’s an intense pre-workout, so side effects can occur if you can’t handle it (yet).

Be aware that a proper amount of Beta-Alanine will cause “jitters” or “tingling,” which will wear off after some time. It’s not a rash or an allergy, and it’s not harmful.

Nutricost Pre-Workout might be the best value money can find for pre-workouts.

I strongly recommend giving Nutricost Pre-Workout a shot if you’re looking for a high-quality, excellent-value pre-workout.
